Prophetic Portents

God will Glorify His name before the nations. Israel will stand alone.

Numbers 23:9  “As I see him from the top of the rocks, and I look at him from the hills; behold, a people who dwells apart, and will not be reckoned among the nations.”

The revolts and riots going on in Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Pakistan, Yemen, and Egypt might tend to make one believe that these are unrelated rebellions.  Many think that these uprisings are being organized by Iran, or perhaps, the Muslim Brotherhood.

What I see, however, is God putting into place the nations that will come against Israel in the near future to wipe Israel off the map.  Psalm 83:2-7 “For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones.  They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,  That the name of Israel be remembered no more.”  For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.”

So, who are the folks listed above?
The Ishmaelites are the Arab Saudis and those from Amalek are the Arabs from the Sinai area.
The tents of Edom, and Moab, and Ammonites are the Palestinians and Jordanians.
The tents of Gebal and Tyre are the Lebanese and Hezbollah
The Philistia are the Hamas of the Gaza Strip
The Hagrites are the Hagarenes, or Egyptians.

God is gathering these nations under the rule of Islam, preparing them for the judgments which scripture tells us will happen in the end times. Each of these nations are nations that will be subdued either by Israel or by God himself, by which He will glorify His name and His people. When these surrounding nations attack Israel, then Zechariah 12:2-9 tells us that Israel will emerge victorious.

God is obviously bringing the world to His prophesied conclusion, and fulfilling His promises to Abraham and his descendants that He made thousands of years ago.

One can only ask: “How close are we to the return of Christ?”
