Last time we noted that the prophecies of Ezekiel and Daniel tell us that war is coming against Israel and what nations and people groups will be involved. What is most interesting about this is that the prediction of Ezekiel, made over 2600 years ago, lines up very closely with the current alignment of nations that we see emerging today: the Islamic nations which are forming coalitions to “wipe Israel off the face of the earth”, and the western nations which tend to be supportive of Israel.
We are told that the King of the North, Russia, will ally itself with numerous allies – Ezekiel 38. Do we see this happening? Indeed we do. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) brings together almost half the world’s population and several members have nuclear weapons. Today, its members are Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. In addition Iran, Pakistan, India, and Mongolia are observer nations (non-voting members). Their goal: to eliminate the dominancy of the United States as a financial and political superpower.
We are told that the King of the South will come against Israel and attempt to wipe them off the face of the earth – Psalm 83. Do we see this happening? Indeed we do. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) serves the aspirations and expectations of the peoples of the 57-member states and Muslim communities across the world. There are 57 nations in the OIC: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain , Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros , Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti , Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana , Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives , Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority, Qatar , Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname , Syria, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Yemen. Their goal: eliminate both Israel (the little Satan) and the United States (the great Satan).
We are told that the Kings of the East will also form coalitions – Isaiah 41, Revelation 16. Do we see this happening? Indeed we do. The so-called BRIC nations of Brazil, Russia, India and China called for reform of international financial institutions, sweeping changes to the United Nations to give a bigger role to Brazil and India and a “stable and predictable” currency system, according to a draft communiqué. Their goal: the establishment of a “multipolar world order”.
And what about the King of the West– Jeremiah 25 & Revelation 13? Is he forming any alliances? Do we see this happening? Indeed we do. The European Union is very adamant that a new world order must be formed. Both the Group of Twenty (G-20) and the Group of Eight (G-8) have come to historic agreements in London, some of which could have far-reaching implications for the governance of the global economy, and have called for a new world trade agreement. Turkey is calling for the revival of the Ottoman Empire. Their goal: a unified one world government.
The European Union (EU) aka the Revived Roman Empire
The first three members of the ancient Roman Empire were: Belgium, Holland, and Luxembourg. Those same three members were the first to join the European Union in 1948! Seven other members joined the EU to make the first ten members: in 1957 Italy, Germany and France joined. This was ratified by the Treaty of Rome which formally called this the Revived Roman Empire. In 1973 England, Denmark and Ireland joined, and finally, in 1981 Greece. Today, there are at least 27 members, and it hopes to grow quickly to over 100 in the near future. The EU is constantly calling for larger and more endemic world power claiming it should expand beyond Europe. Gordon Brown, and Tony Blair of Britain call for expansion and a permanent EU presidency. Nicolas Sarkozy and Jose Barroso both call for a permanent EU presidency and expansion beyond Europe. The EU is also seeking control over global finances, as well as a stronger Middle East peace deal. Both Palestinian and Israeli leaders also state that the EU should take a larger role in the peace process, as does King Abdullah of Jordan. Blair urges Obama to take a leading role in this process as well. The EU is also calling for Israelis and Palestinians to share the sacred city of Jerusalem in an attempt to breathe new life into Middle East peace talks. On December 7, 2009 calls to divide Jerusalem intensified when Sweden tried to pass an initiative in the EU to unilaterally to recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of a new Palestinian State (Jerusalem Post, Haaretz, YNetNews and other 12/7-8, 2009 online postings).
The Two Legs of the Revived Roman Empire.
The Revived Roman Empire is destined to become world wide. If the European Union is to become this empire, how does this transpire? The western, or European nations are only one leg! The original Roman Empire had two capitals, one in Rome, and the other in Istanbul or modern Constantinople, the capital of Turkey. Today, there are at least 27 nation who are members in the western region, and at least 25 nations in the eastern region – in the Muslim and African nations! Turkey has been denied membership to the EU under Van Rompuy’s presidency. In response to this attitude, In October 2009 Turkey signed treaties making it an ally of Iran, Syria and Russia (Arutz Sheva Israel National News online posting 10/13/09). It wants to revive the Ottoman Empire. And the OE occupied much of the land once known as Babylon!
What about the “New World Order”?
Do we see signs of this happening? Indeed we do. Not only is Kissinger talking about forming a new world order, so are many other world leaders. Both Nicolas Sarkozy of France and Tony Blair of England wanted to be the permanent president of the European Union, whose goal is to unite all of the countries of the world under one binding economic governing body, but it’s first “permanent” president is Herman Van Rompuy, a man known for “peaceful negotiations” and skullduggery. The Bilderbergs and other secret societies plan to implant every human being on the planet with a microchip under the skin either in the forehead or in the right hand no later than 2017. (Does this sound eerily like Revelation 13:16-17? “He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.”)
Is the United States a part of the New World Order of all these kings?
Our illustrious new president has made some very interesting comments. In his speech in Berlin on July 24, 2008 Obama said: “I am a fellow citizen of the World. In this new world we’ll have a global citizenship. We will join in a new global partnership. We must come together to save the planet. We need a globalized world. People of the world this is our time. We must answer our destiny and remake the world once again.” Henry Kissinger has stated that “Obama is primed to create the new World Order.” He also claims that Obama’s task “will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a new world order can be created. It’s a great opportunity, it isn’t just a crisis.” The US, while not one of the super powers, is part of all the nations that will align themselves against Israel.
Conclusion:
The world is changing and changes are happening so fast that one can’t keep up. Daily newspapers and online websites that track world news give hour by hour and even minute by minute updates. Although each group tackles world wide conditions in a different manner, one common thread can be seen in the goals and purposes of each of these Kings: the institution of a new world order and a one world governing body. Each King, in its own way, helps to turn the heart of man away from God and towards a human solution.
As the power of these “Kings” begins to coalesce, one must ask the question: How much longer do we have before Christ returns?
