Prophecy Sign: Earthquakes
Mark 13:8 – “There will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines . . .”
Luke 21:11 – “And there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”
The question of whether earthquakes are increasing is a common question about the timing of end times prophecies. Scripture states that “great” earthquakes will appear in various (or diverse) places and that they will be like the beginning of birth pains. The total number of quakes has increased each year since 2012.

2019
2019 has been another remarkably quiet year for “great” earthquakes, but the total number of earthquakes (179225) are seven (7) times the average (25721 from 2000 to 2012) and over 9.77 times the amount in 2012 (18328). As of December 1, 2018, the numbers are:

1. Quakes in the 8.0 and above range were once again 100% of the average since 1900 (1).
2. Quakes in the 7.0 to 7.9 range (9) were 60% of the average since 1900 (15).
3. Quakes in the 6.0 to 6.9 range (133) were 99% of the average since 1900 (134).
4. The number of large earthquakes (143) were 5% below the average since 1900 (150).
5. The total number of earthquakes (179225) is 9.78 times greater than the total number in 2012 (18328),
6. The total number of earthquakes (179225) 1.96 times greater than the total number in 2013 (91423).
7. The total number of earthquakes (179225) is 5.64 times greater than in any of the years prior to 2012 (31777 in 2008).

Prophecy Sign: Signs In The Heavens
Luke 21:25 – “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.”
The moon has been a favorite sign this year, starting with the Super Blood Wolf Moon in January, followed by the other super moons in February and March, and another Blue Moon in May. According to the Blog for the Pillar of Enoch Ministry [https://pillarofenoch.blogspot.com], “The Blood Moon Sign on July 17th, 2019 in the Sign of Sagittarius that will be fully visible over Israel is showing the coming of Yahshua as a conquering Warrior King to smite the enemies that have persecuted His born again saints, and to wake up the unbelieving Jews from the spiritual darkness that they are woefully lost in at the moment.”

Scientists have discovered an untold number of new galaxies, and NASA has warned that an 1,115 foot asteroid headed this way could hit Earth five years from now in 2024. Tom Horn asks if this could be the prophesied Wormwood Star of scripture (Revelation 8:10-11).

Prophecy Sign: Flooding
Luke 21:25 – “And upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring . . .”
In February, the world’s driest desert in Chile flooded and some of the planet’s wettest woodlands burned. California received a mind-boggling 18 trillion-gallons of rain, enough to fill 27 million Olympic-sized pools, in just 20 days in February. In March, the Missouri River flooded Kansas. In April, severe flooding hit Iran. In May, the longest flooding of the Mississippi River began. In September, Houston was flooded. In October Uganda, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Egypt, and many other nations were hit by major flooding. In November Italy was hit by flooding, high winds, and snow, Austria dealt with heavy snow, avalanche threats, and flooding by swollen rivers, and Tunisia, Brazil, the Central African Republic, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and the Congo, all saw major flooding, just to name a few.

Prophecy Sign: Famines/Pestilences
Luke 21:11 – “There will also be famines and pestilences . . .”
The 2018 list of nations facing famine remains essentially the same for 2019. Conditions continue to worsen in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, The Central African Republic, Nigeria, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and Somalia. All are now facing famines due to the continuing conflicts in each of those regions. The farming lands of the United States was hit hard this year, which may lead to increased famines in both the US and worldwide.

Prophecy Sign: Mass Deaths
Hosea 4:3 –“The beasts of the field, the fowls of heaven; and the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.”
As of December 30th 2019 there were 436 known mass death events across 72 countries. The figures for the year are astronomical. These deaths include fish, fish, and more fish, including scallops, oysters, whales, dolphins, seals, and turtles. Birds, chickens, ducks, pigs, and cattle round out the astronomical figures. Pigs have been especially hard hit this year in Sumatra, South Korea, Hungary, and the Philippines. China and Vietnam alone account for over 106 million dead pigs. Once again, the hardest hit are the fish and other sea creatures, followed closely by the bird populations. The Bee population continues to be hit hard this year, with half a billion bees dying just in the first three months in Brazil alone and 175 known mass death events in 36 countries since 2013.

The End Times Prophecy Organization website says it this way: “Millions of Fish and massive numbers of various marine creatures are washing ashore dead. Birds are falling dead out of the sky, and millions of poultry and wildlife are dying from avian flu. The animals of the land are also dying in large numbers. . . . Whatever the cause, we know one thing for certain, that this was prophesied to happen in the Bible.” [Bold emphasis mine]

Conclusions
Mark 13:8 – “. . . . These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”
Luke 21:11 – “And there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”
Natural disasters around the world occurred at an alarming rate in 2018. Every few weeks another natural disaster seemed to hit the planet in one area or another, often in several places at the same time. Earthquakes and fires demolished entire towns or cities, wildfires burned hundreds of thousands of acres – unprecedented in past history. Tornadoes, cyclones, even dust storms hit the planet, many of which also caused mass flooding and loss of life. The birth pangs may, indeed, be breaking forth.

Final Thought
Prophecy as foretold by the Hebrew prophets continues to unfold in an escalating pattern. The stage is nearly completely set. The great and terrible Day of Yahweh, Joseph’s Trouble, hastens forth and will not delay. Time is short – Yeshua Ha’Mashiach is coming soon – get busy reaching the lost.
