The Rapture

The Rapture – Part Thirteen – The Overcomer

The Rapture Overcomer
Matthew 13:44 – “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
1 John 5:4-5 – “For whatever is born of Yahweh overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is his Son?

The person who overcomes is a person who has prevailed, risen above, triumphed over, or defeated the catastrophes, disasters, heartbreaks, misfortunes, and tragedies of this world. This person has taken Yeshua into his heart – they are faithful and will never deny their faith in Yeshua. This person is charitable, watchful, prayerful, engaged in service to others, is anything but lukewarm, and has washed his robes in the righteousness of Yeshua. The person who overcomes is a person who Yeshua has declared noteworthy, a person who he will call his own possession, or as the King James puts it: “a peculiar person” and will be rewarded eternal life in the times to come.

Those Peculiar People
Ephesians 1:13-14 – “You were sealed with the Ruach Ha’Kodesh of promise, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of Yahweh’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.”
1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for Yahweh’s own possession; that you may proclaim the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
A person for Yahweh’s own possession is the same as a peculiar people in the KJV! In Hebrew the word translated own possession is cĕgullah [סְגֻלָּה H5459]. In Greek the word is peripoiēsis [περιποίησις G4047]. Both words mean: a possession, one’s own property, a valued property, a peculiar treasure or person.

The peculiar person who becomes Yahweh’s own possession is a person who has obeyed his voice and kept his covenants (Exodus 19:5). The peculiar person who becomes Yahweh’s own possession is a person who has been chosen (Deuteronomy 7:6, Deuteronomy 14:2, Psalm 135:4). The peculiar person who becomes Yahweh’s own possession is a person who is honored and praised above all nations (Deuteronomy 26:18-19). The peculiar person who becomes Yahweh’s own possession is a person who is spared from Yahweh’s wrath (Malachi 3:17). The peculiar person who becomes Yahweh’s own possession is a person who is zealous for good works (Titus 2:11-14).

Rewards For Those Who Overcome
Eternal Life
Revelation 2:7 – “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.”
Revelation 2:11 – “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.”
The overcomer receives eternal life, not eternal death and torment in the lake of fire.

Hidden Manna and a White Stone
Revelation 2:17 – “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.
The overcomer receives a white stone with their name inscribed upon it. The High Priest of the Older Covenant wore a breastplate with the names of the twelve tribes inscribed on twelve stones (Exodus 28:21). History records a Roman custom in which the champions of athletic games were awarded white stones with his name inscribed on it which gave him access to the victory banquet – hence the Biblical inscribes white stone gives the bearer entrance to the hidden manna at the eternal victory celebration in heaven!

Authority To Rule
Revelation 2:26 – “He who overcomes, and he who keeps my deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.”
Revelation 3:21 – “He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
The overcomer receives authority to rule as a regent of Yeshua over the nations and peoples of the millennial age. This person is a member of the Kingdom of Priests who reign upon the earth (Revelation 1:6 and 5:10). This person also receives authority to judge the angels (1 Corinthians 6:3)

Righteous Living In The Presence Of Yahweh
Revelation 3:5 – “He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.”
Revelation 3:12 – “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.”
The overcomer receives the right to be in the presence of Yahweh, Yeshua, and the Ruach Ha’Kodesh for all eternity. The veil between the holy and the most holy has not just been torn, it has been utterly removed. Never again will the overcomer be separated from God Almighty.

An Eternal Inheritance
Revelation 21:7 – “He who overcomes will inherit all these things, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
The overcomer receives adoption into Yahweh’s family as a son or daughter, not a slave or servant. The overcomer inherits all that belongs to Yeshua (Luke 12:32, Romans 8:17, Acts 20:32, Galatians 4:7, James 2:5).

Conclusions
The overcomer is a chosen, peculiar person who Yahweh calls his own possession. The overcomer has triumphed over the world through the blood of Yeshua. The overcomer is faithful and will never deny their faith in Yeshua. The overcomer is zealous for good works, not slothful. The overcomer receives many rewards including eternal life in the times to come.

Final Thought
We are always to be ready for Yeshua to return. Are you ready? If not, then get ready. Exercise whatever time you have to repent and trust Yeshua for your eternal salvation. Do not test Yahweh’s patience and wait too long – the dress rehearsals will not continue much longer. May Yom Teruah this year be fulfilled in the resurrection of the dead and the rapture of Yeshua’s Bride.
