Revelation Connections 4

Revelation remains a mystery to many people. They say that the images and symbols in this book are too hard to understand. But are they really that hard to understand? Below are some final connections I have found in relation to Yahweh / Yeshua’s authority.

The Authority of Yeshua and His Rod of Iron
Revelation 2:26-27To him who wins the victory and does what I want until the goal is reached, I will give him authority over the nations; he will rule them with a staff of iron and dash them to pieces like pottery.”
Revelation 12:5She gave birth to a son, a male child, the one who will rule all the nations with a staff of iron.”
Revelation 19:15And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down nations – “He will rule them with a staff of iron.”

The Parallel
Psalm 2:8-9 “Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your personal property. You will break them with an iron scepter; you will smash them like a potter’s jar’!”

The Kings Hide
Revelation 6:15-16Then the earth’s kings, the rulers, the generals, the rich and the mighty — indeed, everyone, slave and free — hid himself in caves and among the rocks in the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of the One sitting on the throne and from the fury of the Lamb’!

The Parallel
Hosea 10:8 “Then they will say to the mountains, ‘Cover us!’ and to the hills, ‘Fall on us’!”

Bowls of Incense Waived before Yahweh
Revelation 5:8When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”
Revelation 8:3-4Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before Yahweh out of the angel’s hand.”

The Parallels
Leviticus 16:12-13 “Aaron shall take a censer full of coals of fire from the altar before Yahweh, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and he shall bring it inside the veil and put the incense on the fire before the Lord.”
Deuteronomy 33:10 “they shall put incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.”

Yahweh Tzav’ot – God of Heaven’s Armies
Revelation 11:16-17The twenty-four elders sitting on their thrones in God’s presence fell on their faces and worshipped God, saying, “We thank you, Yahweh, God of heaven’s armies, the One who is and was, that you have taken your power and have begun to rule. [Also in Revelation 1:8, 4:8, 11:17, 15:3, 16:7, 19:6, 19:15, 21:22]

The Parallels
Psalm 80:14 “God of armies, please come back! Look from heaven, see, and tend this vine!”
Amos 3:13 “Yahweh, the sovereign God who commands armies, is speaking!”
Amos 4:13 “For here he is! . . . Yahweh, the God who commands armies, is his name!”
Isaiah 24:21 “When that day comes, Yahweh will punish the armies of the high heaven and the kings of the earth.”

The Rage Unleashed
Revelation 11:18The Goyim raged. But now your rage has come, the time for the dead to be judged.”

The Parallel
Psalm 2:1 “Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?”

Reaping The Harvest – The Angel Speaks
Revelation 10:5-6Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, and the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, “There will be no more delay!

The Parallels
Daniel 12:7 “Then I heard the man clothed in linen who was over the waters of the river as he raised both his right and left hands to the sky and made an oath by the one who lives forever: ‘It is for a time, times, and half a time. Then, when the power of the one who shatters the holy people has been exhausted, all these things will be finished’.”

Psalm 146:6 “The one who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who remains forever faithful.”

Reaping The Harvest – The Great Dragon Thrown Down
Revelation 12:9Another sign was seen in heaven: there was a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns…
Revelation 12:9The great dragon was thrown out, that ancient serpent, also known as the Devil and Satan [the Adversary], the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled down to the earth, and his angels hurled down with him.
Revelation 20:2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.”

The Parallels

Reaping The Harvest – Babylon Destroyed
Revelation 14:8Another angel, a second one, followed, saying, ‘She has fallen! She has fallen! Bavel the Great’!”

Reaping The Harvest – The Sickle is Swung
Revelation 14:14-20Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.”

The Parallels
Daniel 7:13 “I was watching in the night visions, And with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man was approaching. He went up to the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him”.
Joel 3:13-14 “Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe . . . Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of Jehovah is at hand in the valley of decision.”

Reaping The Harvest – Mountains and Islands Laid Waste
Revelation 16:20And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.”

 The Parallels

Reaping The Harvest – Treading the Winepress
Revelation 19:14-15And the armies of heaven, wearing fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of Yahweh the Almighty.”

The Parallel
Isaiah 63:2-3 “Why is your apparel red, and your garments like the one who treads in the winepress? “I have trodden the wine trough alone, and from the peoples there was no man with me. I also trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I stained all my raiment”. For the day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”

Yeshua Provides — Fly You Fools, Fly
Revelation 12:14Israel flew to her place in the desert, where she is taken care of for a season and two seasons and half a season.”

The Parallel

Yeshua Provides — The Tears Wiped Away
Revelation 7:17For the Lamb at the center of the throne will shepherd them, will lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

The Parallel
Isaiah 25:8 “The sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from every face, and remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. Indeed, the LORD has announced it!”

Conclusions
The images and symbols used in Revelation are easy to understand in light of the parallels in the Older Covenant scriptures. Failing to make those connections is the reason many find Revelation hard to understand. Once the connections are made, however, the confusion disappears.

Final Thought
The great day of Yahweh is getting really near, even at the door. It hastens forth and will not delay. We do NOT set dates, but clearly Yahweh is getting ready to change the course of human history once again. The signs are clear for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
